Ben Brown has revealed his new single and video, ‘Kathmandu’. It’s a delicate piece of folky pop that utilises his signature falsetto swoon to guide the listener through immensely catchy choruses. Above the stomping drum pattern and warm guitar strums, Brown treats us to a playful and hugely melodic kazoo solo in the track’s closing moments. ‘Kathmandu’ is taken from Ben Brown’s new EP, Blue, which is out now. Of the release, he says: “The songs themselves are sort of vignettes in my head - when I sing them, I can picture a scene. The way the camera would move, the grain of the film. I believe them to be well crafted - both structurally and melodically - they are more understated than my previous work, there is no loud drum kit or overdriven guitar to hide behind.” Catch him on tour with The Meffs this August and September. -Dan Peeke
